Many of the families coming to Open House Ministries for help need assistance finding employment, developing or re-learning basic work skills, or building a resume'. Residents work with an on-site job coach to address employment-related issues.
Job Coaching Residents can take advantage of developing interview skills, resume' building, and exploration of school and job opportunities.
Computer Access Helps residents learn computer skills. Gives residents an opportunity to become familiar with MSWord, MSExcel, Internet Explorer, and other computer software that can be helpful skills for attaining employment. Provides hands-on resume assistance.
Giving Back Community service program through which residents give back to the community by providing services to the elderly, disabled, local businesses, non-profit organizations, and through participating in our Adopt-A-Highway project.
Culinary Arts & Nutrition Experiential class that helps residents learn practical life skills and provides instruction to help them obtain food handlers certification for employment in food-related positions. This class also operates in conjunction with our Giving Back program to provide large-scale food service to volunteer and other groups
