The Race for the Homeless 2012 will run for its thrinteeth year. Once again, the race will benefit Open House Ministries. 100% of the race fee will be matched with a generous donation to our shelter. Last year $6,500.00 was given to  us to help homeless families regain their independence.

This event will be held June 23rd at Open House Ministries. Limit of RSVP's will be 30 people at $10.00 each.

Multi-Purpose Building

The Open House Ministries’ shelter building in located in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Although our location provides convenient access to services often utilized by residents, our location provides no outdoor area for the children to play. Furthermore, registered sex offenders occupy nearby housing. Upon intake, families are made aware of existing dangers inherent in our neighborhood. Emergency Generator

Severe weather conditions have left the shelter without power on more than one occasion. As you can imagine, a house that sleeps up to 107 people faces serious challenges when power supplies are interrupted. Open House Ministries has received estimates for purchasing a back-up generator for the shelter.
