Educational services are available to Open House Ministries’ residents and to their children. At Open House Ministries, we are fortunate to have community partners who make this program possible.

Education
After School Education (HOPE Program)Services linked with the Vancouver School District that provide for transportation to school, help with homework, and tutoring for Open House Ministries’ school-age children. Statistics show that, on average, children lose 3-6 months of education each time they are uprooted and transferred to a new school district. Children participating in this program have the opportunity to make up for lost time.A HOPE Program liaison works to inform parents of their rights under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 and also acts as a mediator between parents and the school district to ensure that the children’s needs are met.

Educational Enrichment
Helps prepare residents to obtain their GED and/or to pursue educational goals. Through a partnership with the Clark College Foundation, residents attend GED classes on site and receive one-on-one tutoring to provide an atmosphere of success.
