OHM Board Members | Next > | <Back
OHM board members are an important part of our shelter program; they work together to set policy, evaluate and update mission goals, and to support OHM staff in strategic planning and daily operations.
Brian Gigstad
OHM Board Secretary Brian is employed with the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) as a surveyor. He serves as Missions Director for Calvary Community Church here in Vancouver and is passionate about reaching out to others around the world. He also serves on the board of New Beginnings, a home for pregnant, homeless teenagers. Previously, Brian and his wife, Rhoda, served as a shepherding home for Legacy of Life (also a home for pregnant, homeless teenagers). As a shepherding home, they opened their own home to provide transitional support for a mother and her children following their stay at Legacy.
Evan Hull
OHM Board Member
Evan is a local attorney, practicing law in the areas of wills, probate, powers of attorney, real estate, landlord/tenant, family law, and personal injury. Evan is on the Board of Directors of the Vancouver Methodist Foundation and the Chinook Trail Association. He has been involved at OHM for many years and also volunteers at Columbia Springs Environmental Education Center. Evan is a passionate member of our community who supports medical clinics, housing, and education here and in Africa.
Joanne Kendall
OHM Board Member and OHM Founder
Joanne and her late husband, Bob Kendall, are among OHM's original founders. Since the shelter's inception, Joanne has dedicated herself to informing the community about the shelter's programs. Joanne regularly volunteers at the shelter, and loves to personally deliver toys to the children.
